Pioneer Natural Resources, a large oil and gas company, had two websites hosted externally. But when that firm needed to upgrade its hardware and proposed a new 3-year agreement, Pioneer wanted other options. RBA helped Pioneer move its websites to the cloud. The public sites now run within Windows Azure and Windows Azure Blob Storage. A private site for employees is built on .NET, the Windows Azure platform and Windows Azure Blob Storage, with security provided by Windows Identity Foundation. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA) has more than 75,000 active members, so providing fast service and access to information is a top priority. But its Internet and extranet sites used legacy systems that were cumbersome and difficult to maintain. The sites needed to be redesigned on a new platform while still integrating with legacy systems and data. RBA leveraged BCBSLA’s existing investments in Microsoft’s SharePoint, BizTalk, .NET and WCF technologies to construct a unified platform.
