Meet Robby – Full-Stack Developer with a Passion for Mobile

Robby is a full-stack developer with a heart for mobile app development and a love for building meaningful, user-centered experiences. He lives in Marion, Texas, a small town just south of New Braunfels, with his wife, two young children, and their two dogs.

Robby’s tech journey began at Texas State University—where he also met his wife—working in IT before moving into a programmer role. His experience spans university systems, mobile app development for a New York-based company, and most recently, serving as the mobile app owner in a full-stack role at Akido Labs. Though skilled across the stack, mobile remains his true passion.

Outside of work, Robby enjoys quality time with his family, building mobile apps just for fun, and supporting his community. He and his wife have just completed the process of being relicensed as foster parents, a testament to their big hearts and commitment to helping others.

Fun Fact: Robby is a licensed Amateur Radio Operator—and yes, he occasionally climbs radio towers.

Whether he’s coding, parenting, or scaling a tower, Robby brings energy, curiosity, and purpose to everything he does.

Robby starts his day around 6AM, using the early hours to focus before the rest of the house wakes up. He typically spends this time either progressing through work-related code or exploring personal development projects and technical research.

By 7AM, he shifts to family mode. He then helps to get his kids ready and off to school. His workday officially begins around 8 or 8:15AM. Robby starts by reviewing emails and Microsoft Teams messages, addressing client questions, and sharing project updates.

Most of Robby’s development work is done independently or with small, collaborative teams at RBA, allowing for a flexible daily structure. His mornings are often focused on active development tasks, with meetings scheduled (as needed), such as client check-ins, technical discussions, or Lunch-and-Learn sessions.

After a midday break, Robby typically spends his afternoons deep in work. With minimal meetings, he’s able to fully focus, often listening to music while working through complex coding tasks.

He usually wraps up his workday around 5PM. While he occasionally works in the evenings when needed, but he generally reserves that time for his family.
