Fastenal: Improving sales efficiency with Dynamics 365

Based in Winona, Minnesota, Fastenal is a provider of tools and supplies to manufacturers throughout the globe. They had selected the Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution to help manage their national sales efforts and selected RBA to help them with the design and deployment of the solution.


Improving customer visibility and sales orchestration

With a distributed team, Fastenal had challenges getting accurate information about pipeline and opportunities from around the country while also need to improve orchestration of pursuits and priorities for the sales team.

RBA worked with Fastenal to configure and customize the Dynamics 365 solution to automate key sales processes and to extend the platform to capture additional information about customers.


Leveraging Dynamics 365 for CRM

The solution leverages the capabilities of Dynamics 365 in the cloud to allow Fastenal to take advantage of frequent platform updates strong integration with the other tools of Office 365 including Power BI.

Workflow Automation

Using the built-in capabilities of Dynamics 365, we built workflows to automate some of the key processes and tasks to improve the efficiency of the distributed team and accountability.

SharePoint Integration

The solution included integration to an existing SharePoint implementation to store documents and link them back to specific records in CRM to improve findability.

Improving Data Visualization

Fastenal has been exploring the use of Power BI to improve visibility of the information stored in Dynamics to distribute to users at various levels.
